Update as of Feb 15, 2026:
Registration is currently open both to HMWG members and to those who are not currently members. Non-members who would like to join the workshop must first purchase an HMWG membership and then you may purchase the workshop deposit.
The total per person workshop cost is already lower than the original maximum of $320 and will be further reduced with each new registration.
If the workshop fills, we will maintain a waitlist. Please contact Wendy Corrigan if you would like to join the waitlist.
This will be an in-person workshop held at Calvary United Methodist Church in Latham, N.Y. (our normal evening meeting location, though we will be in a different space in the building). Meeting times are 9-4:30 each day.
Cost: We anticipate a minimum workshop fee of $160/student and potentially as high as $320/student if we do not fill the class. Additional costs include a materials fee of $3 for printed handouts and design templates, collected by instructor at workshop. Students will supply their own yarn following instructor's recommendations. This workshop is eligible for HMWG Scholarship support - please apply with the Scholarship committee if interested.
The workshop costs will depend on # of students as well as final expenses. We will run the workshop with a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 20 students. The final costs will not be known until close to the workshop date and potentially after the workshop as these include travel expenses and incidentals for the instructor.
You will be required to make a second payment prior to the workshop and potentially a small third payment after the workshop. If you register and cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to someone else, but no refunds will be made.
Please complete the form and pay your deposit of $160. If you do not receive a receipt email, your registration did NOT go through. Once you register, you will receive instructions from the instructor on how to prepare for the workshop.
Intellectual property notice: All workshop materials are property of the instructor. You may save copies of workshop materials such as handouts for your personal, non-commercial use. Do NOT distribute class materials.
Workshop description: Crimp & Create
This is an on-loom workshop taking fiber in a new direction by creating “crimp cloth.” Learn to create fabric with permanently crimped designs that hold their memory even when washed. Apply this stash-busting technique to any threading and learn the thought process that will lead to endless possibilities for creating magic cloth. Participants will draft, weave, and crimp their samples in class. Learn how the fabric can be used for one-size f i ts-all garments that flatter any figure, scarves and shawls that won’t slide off your shoulders, and knit-look ribbing for a sweater or jacket collar. Garment design and sewing tips are included.
Skill level: Adventurous beginner and beyond.
Student equipment required: Minimum of 4 shafts necessary; 8 or more shafts is even better! Not a round-robin.
IF YOU DO NOT SEE A SPACE FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD # ON THE CHECKOUT SCREEN, TRY A DIFFERENT BROWSER.
This is likely, but not guaranteed to be the final payment.
